First and Last

It seems like only a few weeks ago I was dreading the first essay of the class and thinking how in the world I could fart out three pages over the Stones River Battlefield down the road, and all too soon I was turning in my last essay over D2L and breathing a heavy sigh of relief over it all. This class was such a drag to me at first because I despise writing essay, but I really enjoyed class time and how more social it was than every other class I had this semester. If I had to choose something that I would change if I could, I'd just say the book, as a guy, it felt weird reading a historical fiction love novel. It felt pretty dang mushy and I couldn't get into it but it I got through it regardless. :)

LTV Poem~
Anne my love you are
Always in my tainted heart
But now no longer

LTV Ch1&1-3* -&- Ch4-7

*Apparently my last blog did not publish so I have to write it again so I'll just add it to the beginning of this post*

At the beginning of the book, the author of the book explains her recent divorce/relationship. I originally thought this was the protagonist of the book, which I'm still a bit hazy about considering her (the author) name is not Anne, not to mention she has a crazy acid trip into the life of a 16th century queen (which I doubt Sarah did).

The first chapter of part two introduces the main 'characters', which happen to be the actual Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII. There is an uneasy tension at Hever castle as Henry comes to visit her on her birthday. Her sister, Mary, has apparently had a brief relationship with Henry, which passively makes things a little awkward between them, but they ultimately seem to move past that - for now. The protagonist (which is who?) has fallen in love with Anne and finally comes to grips with what she is experiencing.

At the beginning of the second chapter, you find out that Anne has also had a "failed" relationship, which was "possibly on Henry's orders" - as to relate to the author/protagonist. Henry comes to Anne and actually asks her to marry him once his annulment is complete, to which she says yes of course. You also get more input towards her family near the end.

As the group prepares for their hunt at the beginning of the third chapter, our protagonist once again embarks upon yet another introspective journey as she describes her new clothes, her current surroundings, and her coming hunt. While on the hunt, Henry shows a creepy side as he metaphorically compares his undying love for Anne through the blood of their recently killed stag.
During their dinner party later, we find out about Thomas Wyatt's interest in Anne and how it obviously cannot be. At the end of the chapter I started laughing out loud at what happened. All I could think was "TMI?!". That might have gone a little too far, especially for us guys...

At the beginning of chapter four, we find out that Henry is in a mad rush to marry Anne, whilst finishing the annulment of his marriage with Katherine, so he leaves for London. Anne is 'troubled' with the decision of what to send after Henry as a gift. She ends up choosing the ever-so-famous golden ship that many know Anne by. Anne then spends most of her remaining time in her father's library before their trip to Allington.

21st century Anne finds out that George Boleyn is her closest member of her family. During the Boleyns' ride to Allington, Anne finds out that Thomas Wyatt's brother is having marital issues, and hears her mother compare him to her sister Mary. Anne then sympathizes with Mary wondering why Mary suffers so much at the hands of others due to her problems, yet Thomas' brother does not. Once they arrive at Allington, Anne playfully steals a poem of Thomas' that reveals how much he misses her. After that, we find out that Anne had once asked Thomas to marry her when they were younger. Thomas then takes (playfully?) Henry's gift from her, which quite royally pisses off Henry when he finds out. *(Get it?)

At the beginning of chapter 6, we find out that George, among other things, is a straight up creeper. He apparently comes through Anne's window later in the morning while she is sleeping and stands at the foot of her bed 'til she wakes up... How long did he stand there? We then endure another drawn-out description of another person, as 21st century Anne apparently takes 5 minutes to completely size up the unknown person creeping on her before she realizes who it is. After the 'sketchy-ness' subsides, George hands Anne a letter from the king. which asks when Anne will join him at his castle. George then proceeds to gossip with Anne about how the current queen has been bad mouthing her, calling her a whore - among other things, I'm sure.

During chapter 7, per Henry's 'request', Anne travels to Beaulieu Palace, which Henry bought from her father years before, to meet him. She then finds out Henry wants Anne to serve the queen until the annulment is complete. On the way to Beaulieu, the Boleyns stop by Anne's uncle's place, where she unknowingly crosses paths with Henry's future (5th) wife. Anne's mother and uncle argue about Anne and Henry's sexual endeavors while we find out that Anne has a naturally beautiful singing voice.

Once we hit chapter 8, Anne has arrived at Beaulieu and  begins to serve the queen, dressed in plain, gray clothing as not to gain attention. The queen is annoyed when Anne begins to bow to her and tells her to stop. Anne then meets Anne Gainsford, who she referes to as 'nan', who asks her about her personal relationship with Henry. Everyone thinks that Anne has already 'opened herself up to Henry'.

One of my all-time favorite songs. Kept coming to mind visiting the Stones River Battlefield, even though it doesn't immediately pertain to the history there.

Along with a cool shot down the barrel of one of the cannons at the battlefield!

First Blog - 'Why Important?' (Business Letters/Memos, Job Applications/Resumes, and Web Pages)

Writing business letters (and memos) are extremely important in the professional world where people are busy and professional. It is important to learn how to write proper business letters to quickly get your point across and not ramble. You need to inform quickly, and concise. Personal conversations can be done elsewhere, right?

Properly writing/filling out job applications (and resumes) is also important to us because they are used for every job nowadays. When writing job applications you can't ramble about your experiences or this and that. It is important to learn this so you can "GET A JOB"!

No one enjoys a dull website. If you are going to create a website that isn't specifically for entertainment or the like, you have to spice it up a bit in forms of text font, size, and color, including backgrounds and pictures/animations.
